This newly renovated house in the Greater Toronto Area, effortlessly connects LUNA downlights, KLICK track, Mood Tape, and other decorative fixtures to the Liteline OnCloud | WiZ ecosystem for full smart home lighting.
Looking to upgrade their home with the latest in smart home automation, the homeowners chose to integrate Liteline OnCloud fixtures and device for their lighting and controls system. With an open house concept, they wanted to be able to use lighting to divide the rooms, as well as, create a different atmosphere in each area, or have them seamlessly blend together. The Liteline OnCloud | WiZ ecosystem provides wireless control from anywhere via the WiZ app, or from smart home devices including Alexa, Google Home, Siri Shortcuts, Samsung SmartThings, and IFTTT. Plus, control from the wall is still possible, with the Liteline OnCloud Room Controller for OnCloud fixtures, and the OnCloud Dimmer to connect traditional fixtures into the ecosystem.
Solution
The LUNA dim-to-warm fixture makes up the home’s general illumination and is used in the outdoor soffits. This WET Location fixture, provides regressed optics for reduced glare, full 360-degree rotation and a 30-degree tilt allowing it to not only illuminate the room, but also be directed to highlight wall art. The 30K – 20K color temperature provides a warm tone when dimming the lights. By wiring these fixtures to the OnCloud Dimmer they become a part of the Liteline OnCloud | WiZ ecosystem and can be controlled wirelessly. Within the WiZ app, rhythms can be used to create a natural transition of the fixtures color temperature throughout the day making the lights dim warm into the evening. This can be setup as a schedule, custom rhythm, or as a Circadian Rhythm.
Circadian Rhythm in lighting, allows the color of the lights to mimic the suns natural progress throughout the day from cooler tones in the morning to wake you up, and softer warm tones at night to help produce melatonin for a better night rest. To aid in dividing the living room, dining room, and kitchen, which is all open, there are linear runs of Oncloud Mood Tape installed along the outside wall of each room. These three strips of recessed tape offer individual control with full color and white tuning. Each run is wired to its own OnCloud Room Controller which allows for ON/OFF, dimming, white tuning, and to select between four-favorite modes selected within the app. Each OnCloud Room Controller, controls all the OnCloud fixtures and devices paired to that room within the WiZ app.
Further to these three linear recessed tape sections, there is additional accent tape throughout the rest of the house to add an extra pop of color. Within the living room and bedrooms there is up-lighting in the ceiling coves to add a glow of color to the entire room. In the living room the OnCloud Mood Tape is wrapped around the standoff with the TV as a subtle accent glow. Within the kitchen and laundry room tape is used under the cabinets as task lighting to illuminate the counters and backsplash. Lastly, there is tape along the ceiling in the staircase to lead you upstairs, which can also second as a night light with the night light setting within the WiZ app.
Within the dining room and kitchen, the homeowners chose to install KLICK OnCloud for task lighting. Over the dining room table, there is suspended KLICK OnCloud, which allows for ON/OFF and dimming of the fixtures. Within the kitchen, over the island, KLICK OnCloud is recessed into the ceiling using Liteline’s PrecisionPro for an easy to install, flawless trimless look. KLICK is an architectural linear track system that is modular in design and offers powerful yet quiet fixtures that direct light exactly where you want it.
The remainder of the decorative fixtures are connected to Liteline OnCloud Dimmers to complete the smart home. This dimmer allows for traditional dimming fixtures to connect to the WiZ app for ON/OFF and dimming from anywhere.
In Conclusion
Liteline OnCloud was able to provide a full smart home lighting solution from recessed lights for general illumination and full color OnCloud Mood Tape for accent lighting and creating separate spaces, to task lighting with KLICK and a way to connect other traditional decorative fixtures.

The LUNA series is a user-friendly directional downlight that is offers a variety of color temperature options, but for the purpose of this home, the homeowners went with the Dim-to-Warm option to offer the ability to dim from 3000 K to 2000 K. These sleek fixtures offer up to 800 lumens to offer a suitable light output for any space. LUNA fixtures are wet location rated, which allows them to be installed in bathrooms or outdoor soffits, and are IC rated meaning there is no can or housing required. The LUNA fixture has an easy, worry-free installation that is perfect for new construction or remodel projects.
OnCloud Mood Tape
Liteline’s OnCloud Mood Tape is a 24V, constant voltage, full color and white tuning Tape that is WiZ enabled for full wireless control. Kicking out up to 134lm/ft (440lm/m), Mood Tape is great for accent lighting under cabinets or to add a splash of color into coves for indoor or outdoor installation. It is also available with a lens and channel for softer illumination indoors.
KLICK OnCloud
KLICK is an innovative way to create visually interesting lighting while adding modern style with an element of design. The track is designed to have side panels overlapping the track joints to provide structural integrity for a sturdy and strong construction with no light leaks, and unlimited continuous run lengths. OnCloud Room Controller
The OnCloud Room Controller works with any OnCloud or WiZ Connected fixture or device. The Room Controller is always connected and communicates directly with the light fixtures through every room. The OnCloud Room Controller allows you to control the hardwired fixtures even if the internet is down. Control all of the lights in the room from one place with ON/OFF, dimming, white tuning, or select from four-favorite modes selected within the app.
OnCloud Dimmer
The OnCloud Dimmer connects traditional dimming fixtures to with Liteline OnCloud | WiZ ecosystem for ON/OFF and dimming. This dimmer also connects to the WiZ app for wireless control of the circuit.
